Principal's Message

Welcome to Highland Oaks Elementary School, a place where students and adults learn and grow each day. At Highland Oaks we believe that working together as a community is very important.

This new school year begins with a continued focus on excellence and an educational program promoting student achievement. We continue to use data as well as consider the needs of the whole-child to plan for student achievement. We follow "Leader In Me" and "Restorative Practices" in order to build community, grow leaders and make all children and adults feel welcome and inspired to achieve.

The staff's commitment to excellence is one of the reasons Highland Oaks Elementary School enjoys such a great reputation. We continue to rely on our parents and families to support us in our work. Our close-knit community is made possible through the efforts of the PTSA and Designing Dad's Parent Group in developing and organizing events that bring families, staff and students together, as well as fundraisers, for the common benefit of supporting our students. The events organized by our PTSA help defray the cost of field trips, school assemblies, technology, and other materials that will benefit students. In addition, we are fortunate to have a Designing Dad's Parent Group that funds a Performing Arts Program for our students in grades TK-5. If you are interested in volunteering, we can find a way to make it work with your schedule and talents.

As Principal of Highland Oaks School, I feel so fortunate to work with such a wonderful staff, magnificent students, and very supportive families. I am excited and looking forward to a wonderful school year.
