PTSA President's Message

Dear Parents, Teachers and Highland Oaks Scholars,

Welcome back.  We look forward to another incredible year with you at Highland Oaks!

This year, the Board will continue its mission of bringing the parents and teachers together and finding ways to support our kids to grow and to expand their horizons.  The Board will run and/or sponsor the many successful past programs such as Book Fair, Family Fun Night, Foundations in Art, and Talent Show (to name just a few). The Board will also experiment with new programs to diversify parent participation.

Please check our website for the 2018-19 HOPTSA Calendar, contact info for the new Board members and Committee Chairpersons, historical documents from past HOPTSA programs, and miscellaneous HOPTSA forms and information.  We hope it provides basic information you need to learn about HOPTSA and leads that you can use to make further inquiries. For more up-to-date news of what is happening on campus, we encourage you to subscribe to HOPTSA’s Hawk Talk newsletters.  The newsletter will be published twice a month, and be available here as well as through the HOPTSA ListServ program. If you have any comments or suggestions, please let us know by emailing our VP of Communications, Matilda Young at mat_low@hotmail.com or myself.

HOPTSA would not have been able to successfully sustain and grow itself without your volunteering and generous donations.  We invite you to join our incredible team of volunteers, and make your voice heard and find your efforts appreciated. We have a variety of positions and openings that could use your help and that may be fitted into your otherwise busy work/life schedules. This list of Current Programs and Volunteer opportunities is posted here. Please contact myself or our EVP Steve Rhee rheesteve@yahoo.com if you have questions about volunteering at HOPTSA.

I look forward to meeting many of you on and off campus, and work with you to make 2018-19 an incredible year for all of us!
